About

History of the Museum

A national institution for Mongolia's heritage

The Chinggis Khaan National Museum was established by the Government of Mongolia to research, preserve and exhibit the history and culture of the Mongolian state. The museum opened to the public in 2022 in the heart of Ulaanbaatar.

With nine floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum presents the continuity of Mongolian statehood — from the ancient nomadic empires of the steppe to the modern era.
